Help would be greatly appreciated, especially at this time when we are setting up a new school. There are innumerable ways in which a parent may like to help. However, many parents are working and you should not feel under any pressure. Parents who are able to help could take part in any of the following :

  • Parents can help in: sports events, open days, plays and open days. Parents who are educators can help in offering to be substitute teachers.
  • Parents might like volunteer to teach a topic in which they have special expertise. These may include drama, costumes, make-up, chaperones, or coaching a sport.
  • Parents could volunteer to be room mothers for our grades 1-5. They will probably choose a leader and help teachers with making materials for use in class. They may help on the days parents visit the class or provide snacks for visiting parents.

The benefit? Becoming part of your child's daily environment and making friends with other parents.
