Fees for the 2010-2011 School Year
Fees Policy
Fees are fixed for the school year August 2010 to June 2011. They are reviewed annually by the school board and any change to the school fees for the next school year is announced by the end of March.
At RIS, the school fees consist of an application fee, enrollment fee, building fund, tuition and maintenance fee. All fees (except abroad payments) should be remitted in Korean Won and US Dollars.
Fees
Elementary School             Tuition Fee for Grade [1-5]               11,000,000 KRW* + 3,000 USD
Middle School                    Tuition Fee for Grade [6-8]                12,000,000 KRW* + 3,000 USD
* Annual tuition fee does not include the additional fees.
** School uniform must be purchased by the parents from the specific store that will be announced by school administration.
Additional Fees
·          First time enrollment:
o    Application Fee:                                              100,000 KRW
o    Registration Fee:                                             300,000 KRW                    
·          Book Deposit (Non-refundable):                                  200,000 KRW
·          School Bus Fee:                                                          1,600,000 – 2,000,000 KRW*
·          Lunch Fee:                                                                  1,200,000 KRW
·          RIS Facility Development Fee: (Yearly)                       1,000,000 KRW
·          ESL Support:                                                                Free
Application Fee (One-time fee / Non-refundable)
A fee of 100,000 KRW is due upon submission of each student's application. The application fee is non-refundable.
Registration Fee (One-time fee / Non-refundable)
The registration fee is 300,000 KRW per student and is payable within one week from the confirmation of the student's admission to RIS.
Book Deposit (Annual / Non-refundable)
Book deposit is 200,000 KRW per student and is for renting the school textbooks. At the end of the school year students are allowed to take their practice books but not the textbooks.
Facility Development Fee (Annual / Non-refundable)
The facility development fee is 1,000,000 KRW per student and is paid with fall term installment.
Tuition (Annual / Refundable)
The tuition is per year payable in four installments.
Payment option for Elementary School Division:
·          Quarter 1 due date: August 2nd, 2010                        Pay. 1: 2,750,000 KRW + 750 USD + Add. Fees
·          Quarter 2 due date: October 1st, 2010                        Pay. 2: 2,750,000 KRW + 750 USD
·          Quarter 3 due date: December 1st, 2010                    Pay. 3: 2,750,000 KRW + 750 USD
·          Quarter 4 due date: March 2nd, 2010                          Pay. 4: 2,750,000 KRW + 750 USD
Payment option for Middle School Division:
·          Quarter 1 due date: August 2nd, 2010                        Pay. 1: 3,000,000 KRW + 750 USD + Add. Fees
·          Quarter 2 due date: October 1st, 2010                        Pay. 2: 3,000,000 KRW + 750 USD
·          Quarter 3 due date: December 1st, 2010                    Pay. 3: 3,000,000 KRW + 750 USD
·          Quarter 4 due date: March 2nd, 2010                          Pay. 4: 3,000,000 KRW + 750 USD
Notice: Only tuition fee can be divided into terms. The additional fees must be paid in the beginning of the first quarter.
 
School Bus Fee (Annual / Non-refundable)
School bus fee is changing from 1,600,000 KRW to 2,000,000 KRW due to the distance of the route [Shuttle Bus fee varies according to the area that the student’s house is located].
Area      A:          1,600,000 KRW                  (Seocho, Gangnam)
Area      B:          1,800,000 KRW                  (Itaewon, Hannam, Bundang)
Area       C:         2,000,000 KRW                  (Yoido, Sodaemun, Suwon)
Area      D:          2,200,000 KRW                  (places further than 30 km or out of shuttle bus route)

In case of early withdrawal, school bus fee will not be refunded for the remaining days. Please contact with the admissions office for the bus fee details.
 
Lunch Fee (Annual / Refundable)
Lunch fee is 1,200,000 KRW per student and will not be paid if the student brings his/her own food. In case of early withdrawal, lunch fee will be refunded for the remaining days.
ESL Support Fee (Free)
ESL Support is free of tuition for R.I.S. students.
Other Fees
Early Arrivals & After School Care Service
The Early Arrivals & After School Care Service fees are payable in four installments, once every term. Reservations are required. For the fees please contact the school administration.
Uniform
The school uniform is compulsory for all grades. The uniforms can be ordered throughout the year through the uniform company decided by the school administration. The overall cost depends on the number of items ordered.
Other short descriptions
·          Special scholarship is available for embassy members.
·          All discounts for scholarships will be done from the tuition fee only.
·          If the student does not eat lunch at school, lunch fee will not be taken.
·          Scholarship of % 10 discount for the other family members of the student.
·          If the student does not use the school bus option, the school bus fee will not be taken.

Early Withdrawal Refund Policy
When a formal withdrawal notice is given to the Administration Office, the following will be applied:

*        In case of early withdrawal, only corresponding part of the tuition fee and lunch fee is refundable. The other payments are non-refundable as mentioned above.
*        In case of temporary leaves, such as travel, sickness,… etc. the tuition fee and additional fees that correspond to the days that the student did not attend the school is not deducted from the payment and is not refundable.
